Who is a good student?

These days we often come across this question. Many a times its shocking to hear the standards assigned by teachers in general regarding students. An excellent student is the one who is very silent; always polite; always into learning; and so on........
It's really shocking to say that at each stage what we expect from students are stereotyped behaviour which is totally impossible at such a young age.
Youth is a time of disapproval of rules and  rebelliousness all rolled into one. It's like the old dictum......there's a season for flowering; a season for bearing fruits; yet another for their ripening.
The same biological transitions are undergone among us humans too. So immediately after flowering, how could we expect the flowers to become ripened fruits without them passing through the hilarious stages of bitterness and sourness !!!
We without compromise expect youngsters who pass by their adolescence to act, think and behave like very matured individuals....... (oops....! are there any.....? )
Felt very sorry for the high disciplinarian teachers and their pettiness regarding the  imperfections of the students who were infact only in their adolescence !

And fast degrees that could match up to a person's changing statuses. But it does make a great difference in one's  approach in professional life, especially in the teaching career.                 The same danger that fast food does is done by fast ...

A Tribute to my Profession

Three decades of teaching as a profession which was indeed a passion from my childhood days to this very year when I am in the threshold of 52. Even to this day whenever I look into a student's eye; I behold a lovely human-being who silently pleads: me too; entrusted in your care. I know not whether you care or not.               I've always loved them unconditionally. Never had a tiff with them nor found them unruly or awful.                 To this day of my professional life all the credit of my teaching goes sincerely to my teacher's who were so noble, simple and elegant.                    Out of my experience I've come to understand that the impeccable wisdom and a very practical attitude of a teacher can be of immense effect on a student.  ...
